CLARKSDALE, Miss. — For Baltimore Properties, LLC, success is measured by more than the number of properties acquired or projects completed. The Clarksdale-based company is building a growing real estate and property services business while making community investment a central part of its mission.

Led by Ben Baltimore Jr., managing partner, Baltimore Properties operates in real estate, construction and commercial cleaning, offering services designed to improve and maintain properties while creating opportunities throughout the Mississippi Delta.

The company recently marked its first anniversary, giving Baltimore an opportunity to reflect on how quickly an idea developed into a multifaceted business.

“What started as a vision turned into something way bigger — a company built on real impact in our community,” Baltimore shared in an anniversary message back in March.

According to Baltimore, the company built a real estate portfolio with nearly $500,000 in equity during its first year, completed multiple real estate transactions, including creative acquisitions and expanded its operations into construction and commercial cleaning.

The company’s range of services allows it to work across several stages of property ownership and development. Baltimore Properties assists with real estate investment and property management, while its construction operations provide services such as roofing, flooring, painting and renovations. Its commercial cleaning division offers janitorial services, industrial floor care and post-construction cleanup.

But Baltimore says some of the company’s most meaningful accomplishments during its first year happened beyond its business transactions.

Baltimore Properties contributed $5,000 to Coahoma Community College to support scholarships and helped sponsor a campaign to bring members of the cast and crew of the movie Sinners to Clarksdale. The company also contributed to the Elgton Jenkins and JT Gray Annual Backyard Dawgz Camp and Community Funday and supported young athletes through donations to local AAU and other sports programs.

Its community involvement has also extended to organizations and institutions serving residents throughout Coahoma County, including the Clarksdale Municipal School District, Coahoma Opportunities, Aaron E. Henry Head Start Center and Seekwell Christian Church, among others.

Those investments help illustrate the meaning behind the company’s motto: “We don’t just build and maintain properties — we build communities.”

For Baltimore, the different areas of the company are connected by that mission. Investing in property can help restore neighborhoods, while construction can return underused buildings to productive use. Commercial cleaning helps businesses and organizations maintain their facilities, and community giving allows the company’s impact to extend beyond its own portfolio.

That combination of business development and community investment continues to shape Baltimore Properties as the company enters its second year.

“Year one was the foundation,” Baltimore said. “Year two… we going bigger.”

With plans for affordable housing and larger developments on the horizon, Baltimore Properties is looking to build on the momentum of its first year while remaining rooted in the Mississippi Delta.

For Baltimore Properties, the message moving forward is simple: Building. Giving. Growing.
