Jackson, MS (June 25, 2026) — It is time to get Class Back in Session. The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health will host a Back-to-School Resource Fair, from 11 a.m.-2 pm. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at Word of Life Church of God In Christ (COGIC), located at 1108 3rd Ave., Indianola, Mississippi.
The event will bring together community organizations, service providers and vendors to help prepare students and families for the upcoming school year. Available resources include health services and screenings, educational materials, community support services, school supplies and student resources.

The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health was established in 2019 to reduce health disparities among disadvantaged and underserved minority populations in Mississippi through the development of collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders and the implementation of evidence-based public health interventions with a particular focus on health equity.
