Clarksdale, MS — On March 19, 2026, Terrence Metcalf was officially announced as the Assistant Offensive Coach for the University of Mississippi.

This homecoming is a cause for celebration, as Metcalf’s talents have taken him across the country, building a legendary reputation in the world of football and ultimately bringing him back to the Walk of Champions once again — this time in a leadership role.

Terrence Metcalf has built a dynamic career in football, occupying several positions both on and off the field. What began in little league has taken him from the heights of the National Football League (NFL) to roles as a sports trainer, sports media manager, CEO, and head coach at Coahoma Community College, and beyond. Now, Metcalf is positioned to help lead the University of Mississippi’s offensive line through a successful season.

His personal commitment to sportsmanship will serve as a crucial resource to team members. Metcalf has a unique ability to understand and engage the motivations, strengths, and weaknesses of players, leaving a lasting impression on those he coaches and works alongside.

Metcalf began his football career at W.A. Higgins Middle School, progressing from Clarksdale High School to the University of Mississippi and eventually to the NFL. He later returned to Coahoma Community College as a head coach and now steps into his role as an offensive coach at the University of Mississippi.

His journey is a testament to the value of a strong work ethic in pursuing one’s passion. That passion, nurtured at W.A. Higgins Middle School, has carried him to Hall of Fame heights, earning respect in his field through strategy, collaboration, and dedication to the craft — even in the face of adversity.
