CLARKSDALE, Miss. — The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing Deputy Charles Wilson following his completion of training at Mississippi Delta Community College’s Law Enforcement Training Academy.

Wilson was among the graduates of Class B84, which completed its scheduled training on October 22.

The milestone reflects the preparation required for officers entrusted with protecting residents and enforcing the law.

Preparing for the Responsibilities of the Badge

Law enforcement officers must be prepared to respond to emergencies, investigate crimes, protect public safety and interact with residents under challenging circumstances.

Basic academy training provides instruction in the legal standards and practical skills associated with those responsibilities.

Mississippi Delta Community College’s published academy schedule identifies October 22 as the graduation date for the 2026 B84 class.

Recognition From the Sheriff’s Office

According to an October 22 report by Mississippi Delta Report, the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office congratulated Wilson and the graduating class.

The report identifies Wilson as a certified deputy following completion of the academy.

The recognition highlights a professional milestone, although the department has not publicly confirmed through the sources reviewed whether Wilson’s patrol assignment or responsibilities have changed.

Service Beyond Graduation

For residents, the value of professional law enforcement training ultimately depends on the quality of service delivered in the community.

Officers must continue applying sound judgment, respecting constitutional protections and maintaining professional standards.

Wilson’s graduation marks an important step in that ongoing responsibility.
