Coahoma County, Miss. — Coahoma County High School standout Tarrius Weeks has been voted in as a junior selection for the Mississippi Sports Medicine North vs. South All‑Star Game, earning statewide recognition as one of Mississippi’s top high school basketball players.

The annual all-star game, which features the best junior players from across the state, will be played March 21 at A.E. Wood Gymnasium on the campus of Mississippi College.

Weeks, a 6-foot-4 center for Coahoma County High School, has put together an impressive season, averaging 14.5 points, 12.2 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 2.4 steals, and 2.6 assists per game. One of his most memorable performances came at the Helena Christmas Tournament, where he was named Most Valuable Player after recording 30 points and 15 rebounds in a championship win.

In addition to his all-star selection, Weeks also earned DVC Most Valuable Player honors last season as a sophomore, further solidifying his status as one of the Mississippi Delta’s rising basketball talents.

“It’s an honor to be selected,” Weeks said. “I’ve worked really hard, and I want to thank Coach Moore for pushing me all season, my teammates for believing in me, my athletic director McKinley Scott, my parents, and everyone who has supported me.”

Weeks added that he is proud to represent his school and community on a statewide stage. “I will do my best to represent CCHS in a positive way,” he said.

The Mississippi Sports Medicine North vs. South All-Star Game provides players with an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of college scouts and recruiters. Weeks’ selection also continues a strong tradition for Coahoma County High School, marking the fourth consecutive year a Panther has been chosen for the prestigious event. Past selections include Rambo Eagins (2022), now playing at Coahoma Community College; Cait Hall (2023), a Dandy Dozen honoree currently at Shelton State; and Caleb Hearns (2024), who is sidelined this season due to a torn ACL.

Weeks is encouraging Panther fans and community supporters to make the trip to Clinton and cheer him on as he competes among the state’s elite.
