Free Artificial Intelligence Training Opens Doors for Coahoma County Resident

By MDA Education & Technology Desk | October 28, 2026

CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Mississippi Delta residents interested in learning artificial intelligence can now access free online training through Coahoma Community College.

The college announced October 14 that faculty, staff, students and members of the public are encouraged to enroll in courses offered through the Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network.

The program provides access to Intel’s AI for Workforce curriculum without tuition charges.

Training Available to Everyone

The courses are designed to help participants understand artificial intelligence and its practical applications.

Students do not need previous AI experience to enroll in introductory courses.

Available subjects include Introduction to AI, Generative AI, AI for Manufacturing, AI for Cybersecurity, Applied Ethics for AI and Data-Centric AI.

Other offerings address computer vision, sustainability and applied mathematics.

Flexible Learning for Busy Adults

According to the college, the courses are self-paced and delivered through the Canvas online learning platform.

The curriculum includes 16 modules of instruction, with 64 hours of coursework designed for completion over approximately 16 weeks.

Participants who complete the applicable requirements can earn professional development certificates and digital Credly badges.

The flexible format may appeal to working adults, students and residents interested in expanding their skills without attending traditional classroom sessions.

Preparing for a Changing Economy

Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly common in business, education, manufacturing and other industries.

Understanding how AI systems work can help workers evaluate emerging technologies and identify ways to use them responsibly.

Dr. Rolonda Brown, Coahoma Community College’s dean of Academic Affairs, emphasized the importance of preparing employees and students for technological changes in the workplace.

The college’s initiative provides an accessible starting point for residents who might otherwise face financial barriers to technology training.

How to Register

Interested participants can review the program and available courses through the college’s official website.

Registration information is available at Coahoma Community College — Mississippi Artificial Intelligence Network.

The college identifies Dr. Stacy Jones as the program’s project lead.

For residents seeking to develop new professional skills, the program offers a free educational opportunity without requiring previous experience in artificial intelligence.
