Clarksdale, MS — Clarksdale is taking an important step toward preparing its youth for the future by launching a free technology training program for residents ages 14 to 24. Beginning March 23, the program will offer hands-on instruction in several high-demand fields, including cybersecurity, networking, website design, and artificial intelligence. The Delta Connection Consortium, a nonprofit organization, is overseeing this project.
As technology continues to influence nearly every industry—from healthcare to business to entertainment—digital skills have become essential. This program is designed to do more than introduce basic concepts; it gives participants practical, real-world skills that can open doors to stable careers, higher earning potential, and long-term success.
Students will have the opportunity to explore different areas of technology based on their interests. Whether they want to build websites, learn how to protect systems from cyber threats, or understand how artificial intelligence is shaping the world, the program provides a strong foundation for both personal growth and career direction.
Programs like this are especially important in communities where access to advanced technology education may be limited. By offering the training at no cost, organizers are removing financial barriers and making it possible for all interested youth, regardless of background, to participate. This creates a more level playing field and helps prepare young adults to compete in today’s job market.
In addition to technical knowledge, participants will also develop confidence, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. They will gain exposure to career paths they may not have previously considered, which could lead to future certifications, college opportunities, or even starting their own businesses.
Community leaders believe that investing in young people is key to building a stronger future for Clarksdale. By equipping youth with modern, in-demand skills, the program not only benefits individual participants but also contributes to the growth of the local workforce and economy.
Classes will be held at 505 Friars Point Road in Clarksdale. Those interested in learning more or enrolling can call 662-856-7970 or 662-624-7554.
With technology careers growing rapidly, this program offers a valuable opportunity for Clarksdale’s youth to gain skills, explore new interests, and take meaningful steps toward a brighter future.
