Clarksdale, Mississippi– On August 3, 2026, Coahoma Opportunities, Inc. Head Start welcomed Mrs. Nita Thompson Norphlet as the guest speaker for the 2026–2027 Pre-Service Training. Her presentation was an inspiring and meaningful part of the training and aligned well with this year’s theme, “Stronger Together: One Mission, One Vision, One Head Start.”
Mrs. Norphlet delivered an encouraging message focused on the importance of teamwork, leadership, commitment, and maintaining a shared vision when serving children and families. She challenged Head Start staff to recognize the important role each employee plays in the success of the program and emphasized that every position contributes to creating a positive and supportive environment for children.
Throughout her presentation, Mrs. Norphlet encouraged staff to approach the new program year with a renewed sense of purpose and professionalism. She reminded employees that working together, communicating effectively, respecting one another, and remaining committed to the mission are essential components of a successful Head Start program.
Her message also emphasized the importance of putting children and families first. Staff were encouraged to demonstrate compassion, patience, accountability, and excellence in their daily interactions with children, families, coworkers, and community partners.
Mrs. Norphlet’s presentation provided staff with an opportunity to reflect on their individual responsibilities while also recognizing the strength that comes from working collectively as one team. Her words served as motivation for staff to begin the 2026–2027 program year with enthusiasm, dedication, and a renewed commitment to the Head Start mission.
