CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Residents in Clarksdale will have another opportunity Wednesday to receive free health services when Plan A Health brings its mobile clinic to the city.
The clinic is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 785 Ohio Avenue in Clarksdale. Plan A Health lists the stop on its official Mississippi mobile clinic schedule.
The nonprofit uses mobile clinics to bring care directly into Mississippi communities, particularly areas where transportation, cost or limited access to providers can make routine healthcare more difficult.
According to Plan A Health, services available through its Mississippi mobile clinics include family planning, pregnancy and maternal care, Pap smears, HIV and sexually transmitted infection testing and counseling, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, HPV vaccination and mammogram referrals. The organization says its mobile clinics provide services free of charge.
The Clarksdale visit comes as Plan A continues a series of health stops throughout the Delta. Additional September clinics are scheduled in Louise, where the organization also operates a permanent community clinic and pharmacy.
The Louise Community Free Clinic offers primary care, women’s healthcare, pediatrics and pharmacy services to Mississippi residents.
For residents who have delayed basic screenings or preventive care, Wednesday’s Clarksdale stop provides a chance to receive services closer to home.
The mobile clinic will be at 785 Ohio Avenue from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
