CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Residents from across the Mississippi Delta are invited to attend Community Transportation Day on Thursday, July 16, 2026, for an event focused on increasing transportation access, connecting community partners, and improving mobility throughout the region.

The free community event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clarksdale Expo Center, located at 1150 Wildcat Drive in Clarksdale.

Designed to bring transportation providers, healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and community agencies together under one roof, Community Transportation Day will provide residents with valuable information about available transportation options, mobility resources, and services that help individuals access employment, healthcare, education, and other essential destinations.

A featured participant in the event is Delta Rides, which will highlight its regional transportation services and mobility management resources. Representatives will also share information about collaborative partnerships that are working to improve transportation access throughout the Mississippi Delta. Organizers hope these resources will help residents better understand the transportation services available in their communities and remove barriers that often limit access to critical opportunities.

In addition to transportation information, attendees can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including free food, games and activities, door prizes and giveaways, health resources, career opportunities, and transportation service demonstrations.

The event is made possible through a partnership involving Delta Rides, Delta Bus Lines, the Clarksdale-Marks Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Aaron E. Henry Community Health Center, along with numerous community sponsors and educational partners.

Special guests and participating organizations include Mississippi State University, Delta State University, LeMoyne-Owen College, and Coahoma Community College, providing attendees with opportunities to learn about educational programs and workforce development resources.

Community Transportation Day aims to strengthen connections between residents and the organizations dedicated to improving quality of life throughout the Delta. By bringing transportation providers and community partners together in one location, organizers hope to increase awareness of available services while promoting greater independence, accessibility, and mobility for individuals and families across the region.

The event is free and open to the public, and organizers encourage residents of all ages to attend and discover the transportation and community resources available to help keep the Mississippi Delta moving forward.
